About smallengine.directory

smallengine.directory is an independent directory of small engine repair shops across the United States. If your lawn mower won't start, your snowblower seized up mid-season, your generator failed during a storm, or your chainsaw needs a tune-up, this site exists to help you find a qualified repair shop nearby β€” fast.

We list over 13,000 shops in all 50 states. Listings include contact information, hours, brands serviced, Google ratings, and verified photos where available. You don't need to create an account or sign up for anything to use the directory.

Why we built this

Finding a small engine repair shop is harder than it should be. General search results mix in irrelevant auto mechanics, big-box hardware stores, and spam listings. Yelp and Google Maps don't filter by equipment type or brand authorization. Manufacturer websites are helpful for finding authorized dealers, but they only show shops carrying their brand.

This directory pulls from multiple sources, deduplicates cross-brand listings, and focuses exclusively on outdoor power equipment repair. The goal is a single place where someone can search their zip code, filter by equipment type, and find a real shop with a working phone number in under a minute.

How listings work

Shop data comes from manufacturer dealer locators (Stihl, Husqvarna, and others), cross-referenced against Google Places data for ratings, hours, and photos. Listings are refreshed periodically to catch closures, address changes, and hours updates.

Most listings on the site are free and unmanaged β€” the shop hasn't claimed their listing and may not know it exists. If you own a shop and want to update your information, add photos, or appear higher in local search results, you can claim your listing from the shop's page.

If your shop is listed incorrectly, has closed, or you want it removed, contact us and we'll fix or remove it promptly.

Repair guides

Beyond the directory, the site publishes practical repair and maintenance guides covering common problems with generators, snowblowers, chainsaws, pressure washers, and lawn mowers. These guides are written to help you diagnose a problem before calling a shop β€” so you can describe the issue accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary diagnostics.
