Is the engine running normally?
If the engine will not stay running, switch to the no-start guide first.
Before you begin
Shut the equipment down before inspecting it. Never bypass a safety switch, touch energized generator outlets, or inspect a moving blade, chain, auger, or pump.
Common questions
Can a clogged nozzle cause no pressure?
Yes. A blocked, worn, or incorrect spray tip is the most common easy-to-fix cause when the engine and pump appear to run normally.
How do I know whether the pressure-washer pump failed?
If inlet flow is strong, the nozzle is clear, trapped air is purged, and pressure is still missing, the unloader valve, seals, or pump body likely needs service.
Can any small-engine shop repair a pressure-washer pump?
No. Call first and ask specifically whether the shop services pressure-washer pumps; many small-engine shops repair only the engine side.
